Liloveve: When did you first start making jewelry?
Olivia Ewing: I’ve been playing around with making jewelry for 5 or 6 years, but I launched my collection a year and a half ago.
LV: What classes have you taken at Liloveve? OL: Tube Setting and Wax Carving
LV: Where do you draw your inspiration when designing your work?
OE: All of my designs are inspired by nature and usually made directly from found elements in nature. LV: Where do you exhibit / sell your work?
OE: I have been in a few boutiques in Brooklyn and California, but most of my clients find me through Etsy.
LV: What’s your favorite piece you’ve ever made?
OE: My favorite piece is an engagement ring that I recently finished. The client, who lives in Utah, drove all the way to Florida to get twigs from the couple’s favorite tree so that I could cast the twig in white gold and make a custom engagement ring for his girlfriend. I love when the designs I work on have a really romantic story behind them! LV: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
OE: Definitely Australia; I imagine I would find endless inspiration there. LV: If you could collaborate with another designer/artist, who would it be and why?
OE: Good question… I’ve always enjoyed working on my jewelry alone, but I would love to team up with a great photographer!
LV: What’s the most fun aspect of being a jewelry designer?
OE: I love the entire process- watching a twig or thorn slowly transform into a wearable object. It never ceases to amaze me! Check out more of Olivia’s work on Etsy, Instagram & Facebook
