Strengthen your design skills and learn to fabricate your very own pair of “dramatic” earrings in this one day intensive.

Working in sterling silver, brass and copper students will have the opportunity to explore design elements such as mixed metals, gemstone beads, decorative chains and more. Students will gain knowledge on basic jewelry making techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and finishing while also exploring earring specific techniques such as soldering posts, creating ear wires and/or even trendy “ear pins” and cuffs.

This class has a strong focus on strengthening your design abilities, and discovering your design process. What makes a statement earring dramatic? Is it size? Proportion?  Embellishment? How do you design? Are you a draw-er or a do-er? Flex your design muscles and discover your unique aesthetic and process as it pertains to Dramatic jewelry!

Materials are included; students are encouraged to bring in their own gemstone beads, chains, and design elements as well as any “inspiration” photos.
