Students will learn the fundamentals and a range of techniques of torch fire enameling. We will be experimenting with fusing techniques such as sugar coating, orange peel, fully fused, and over firing.
Enameling, the art of fusing glass on metal to create colorful and imaginative designs, is one of the oldest methods used to create decorative metals. We will be working with manipulating enamel as its own material and playing around with firing time and surface patterns rather than just applying it as a fully fused glossy cover.
